Our Favorite Things To Do In Door County
As wedding florists, we get the privilege of traveling to some pretty incredible locations throughout the state (and beyond!) to transform already beautiful venues and bring them all the more to life. Our couples bring us to some pretty unique locations, but we have an incredibly soft spot for Door County. From the natural beauty and unique shops, we just can’t get enough of everything there is to do.
Our Favorite Things To Do In Door County
Door County is this quaint, quiet yet exciting, scenically beautiful, and downright charming place that we are so lucky to be within a mini road-trips time to. Some of our must-sees and eats are:
Sister Golden
You’ll feel like you’re walking into a dream when you enter Sister Golden in Fish Creek. This quaint and charming boutique is filled with the most beautiful items ranging from apparel, artwork, home goods, and beyond. Our favorite corner of Sister Golden? Their Flower Art Prints. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, Sister Golden showcases these unique prints that are composed of elements from nature. No glue, no tape, no paint - just organizing nature into a masterpiece. This boutique alone is worth driving to Door County for.
Pizza people are our kind of people, and you can’t go wrong at Wild Tomato. You can’t not visit Wild Tomato when you’re vising Door County - it’s kind of just a given when you explore the area. In the warmer months, they have an outdoor area where you can eat and it’s the perfect place to mingle and get some fresh air. Their indoor section is a little tiny, but cozy. Some of our favorite menu items are:
the Green & Gold Pizza
the most delicious fried cheese curds
the flourless chocolate torte (drool!)
Another bonus about Wild Tomato? It’s located within walking distance of Sister Golden. Happy eating and shopping.
Whether you’re from the dairy state or not, there’s something for everyone at Door County Creamery. They sell this amazing goat milk soap that leaves your skin extra hydrated (peep Wisconsin winter and seasonal changes!), artisan cheeses, and gelato. You have to try the Roasted Almond and Fig gelato and Hazelnut Stracciatella. Our absolute favorite part of Door County Creamery? They have, hands down, the best chocolate chip cookies ever!
You know how customer service has been a little bit up in the air over the last few years? Well, not at Roots Inn. Our visits and stays have never been short of amazing and welcoming. Their beautiful historic building is located in the heart of downtown Sister Bay and is surrounded by a mix of hustle and bustle but also seclusion and total peace. They also have the most delicious breakfast - yum!
